Our friendship started because
we are both obsessed with scrapbooking and crafty things. We
just can’t get enough of the newest
papers or embellishments. We met almost a year ago at Julie’s
scrapbook store in Bozeman, Montana where Kristin was a weekly
visitor to the store. She attended crops regularly and was on
the design team for the store. This forged a friendship between
the two of us and when Julie made the heart wrenching decision
to close the store and re-focus on her family, Kristin was there
to help with the closing of the store.
But there was something missing, how
could we keep this dream alive and not sacrifice time with
our families? Julie still wanted to be a part of this awesome
industry. Kristin was longing for work that she would love
but would still leave her time for her two young daughters.
We decided that starting a monthly kit club was the perfect
solution. Although there are
other clubs available, there were only one or two that we would
actually want to join ourselves! We knew there was a
market for those of us obsessed with great papers and the best
new products. Living in a somewhat rural area we have
very few options when it comes to local scrapbooking stores. We
know there are many of you that either face the same challenges
or are just too overwhelmed when going into a large store and
trying to coordinate papers and embellishments. A monthly kit
club is the perfect solution -it’s like your birthday
once a month when your kit arrives at your door!
We put together kits that ALL levels
and types of scrapbookers can utilize. Whether you
are a beginner who needs some inspiration from our design
team, a loyal user of strap hinge albums, or a seasoned veteran
with an obsession for all things scrapbooking we are the
Kit Club for you.
Oh yeah and did I mention our wearable
scrapbook goodies? Whether
its jewelry or a great bag we’ve got what you want to
show off your latest work or your greatest loves.
Why Sweet Pea Scraps? Well Bozeman, Montana is well
known for its sweet peas, the flower has become rather a symbol
of the town! There is a festival of the arts that occurs
each year in August and is named for the delicate flower. There
is a yummy restaurant in town that also borrows the name of
the flower, as well as many other businesses, including a landscaping
company! Our favorite use of the flower in connection with
the town has to be a quilt entitled Bozeman Trail designed
and quilted by Susan Davis of Bozeman, Montana. On display
at the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman from October 1, 2005
through January 29, 2006 the quilt features a trail winding
its way through Bozeman’s history. In the center
of the quilt is embroidered “The Valley of Flowers” and
beneath it is a beautiful vine of sweet peas embroidered onto
the quilt.
The varieties and colors or the sweet
pea flower, and the way the vines climb and grow to their
own sense of direction at their own pace is the perfect metaphor
for scrapbooking! There
is no right or wrong way to scrapbook …enjoy and create!
